WK 13: And the Winners Are...
Over $63 Million in Diamonds
BOSTON, MA Friday Sep.30.2005 /FantasyMusicLeague.com/ -- The FML Insider's got secrets to win: Armapan proves he has the juice; discover which FML debut artist is named after a Bonzo Dog Band song; and why 2005 Fall is your chance to be a 'gold digger'.
Never before has anyone swept the Open and Indie Leagues until now. Armapan and his two labels, Digital Roasters and My Second Roster bested the second best players in each league by over $1 million in revenue. Most impressive, Armapan won despite one of his country artists earning zero, zip, nada, a big fat goose egg, in revenue this week. Congratulations Armapan on your well played season. Remember the FML awards prizes for the top 20 players in the Open League. By the way, what are Digital Roasters anyway?
Fans of late night wacky radio show, Dr. Demento may know the origins of FML debut alternative artist Death Cab For Cutie but in case you don't, we've got your back. The name 'Death Cab for Cutie' was actually a song title written by a band called the Bonzo Dog Band. The Bonzo Dog Band was a 60's funky, art house, rock band based in England. Additionally the tune "Death Cab for Cutie" was featured in the Beatles' movie "The Magical Mystery Tour." Other artists that are making their debut on the FML this week: Chris Brown, Jermaine Dupri and Neal McCoy with his hit country single, 'Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On.'
Kanye West is being heralded as Hip-Hop's savior and this week he finds a 569 percent blast in revenue generation. A handful of weeks ago, Kanye West (pronounced Kahn-yay) graced the cover of Time Magazine, which wrote, "...One of the better sounding rap records in history...widely expected to be the biggest-selling record of the year." Kanye West brings a totally different vibe to the gangsta infused world of hip-hop music. His classy style, incredible/inspirational rap lyrics, and education (though West didn't finish college, his mother just retired from her position as chair of the English department at Chicago State University) has made hip- hop and rap available to audiences that hadn't paid attention to it in years. The hot single, from his sophomore album Late Registration, that's making its way up the eTracks, is 'Gold digger' with guest vocalist and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx.
Don't be a Cinderella; all Open League Labels must be registered before the first week's trade deadline of October 3rd at 12 noon pt.
