Week 5: Ahh...Fresh Meat
Debut artists break out onto our charts
LOS ANGELES, CA Friday Feb.2.2007 /FantasyMusicLeague.com/ -- Week 5 of our FML season is here, and just when you thought things were beginning to settle, five debut artists have shaken things up by making their presence known on our charts.
Jason Michael Carroll has made an official appearance on the Country charts, hitting an impressive number 4. Same goes for American Idol's favorite ditz Kellie Pickler, who took over the number 11 spot this week.
Paula Deanda debuted on CHR at number 13, and two new artists have broken out on the Alternative scene: Shiny Toy Guns at number 10, and Sparta at 13.
While they all come from different genres, these artists do have a thing or two in common: lots of heat and eligible for the $250,000 Artist Debut Bonus.
Jason Michael Carroll scored an additional $200,000 in bonuses for being in both the top 5 and top 10 this week, and Shiny Toy Guns added $100,000 to their weekly revenue by snagging a spot in the top 10.
Other big bonus earners this week: Trace Adkins, whose signing cost is just a mere 1 million, took in $550,000 this week when he took over the number 1 spot on the Country charts, forcing Jason Aldean and Rodney Atkins to make room for a new captain. His revenue shot up by 166%, boosting Adkin's status as a major contender on our charts.
30 Seconds To Mars, Muse and Gary Allan each earned $200,000 bonuses for their killer performance on the charts this week.
Speaking of killer performances, our Open League competetiton has been thrown into high gear by some very shrewd players.
The gap has narrowed considerably between our top two contenders, Fetzmonger and Stevemoose: less than $800,000 separates the two as of this week's standings. These two labels are definitely worth checking out.
Don't sit on that impulse to shake up your roster - just make your changes before Monday noon (PT), and your in like Flynn.
Until week 6!
