image of Laura KatzNewton's Law of gravity states that whatever goes up must come down, and that's just as true for this week's charts.

Gnarls Barkley dominated the scene for what seemed like an eternity, and while still top dog, it's becoming clear that the group is slowly losing its grip. The same goes for Nelly Furtado. The "Maneater" has consistently topped the charts, but has recently shown movement to indicate that some of the other kids have come out to play.

The biggest mover this week is Ciara, who leaped up 17 spots to hit number one on the urban charts with the release of the "Step Up" soundtrack. Her revenue increase... a whopping 441%! She also earned top 1,3,5, and top 10 bonuses.

Other bonuses this week go to some Alternative acts, including two artist debut bonuses for Cobra Starship and Peeping Tom. We also saw a top 3 bonus for Angels & Airwaves, and a top 10 for Blue October. Other debut artists include Matt Kearney (#20 HotAC), and Lyfe Jennings (#20 Urban).

The open league standings this week are very impressive: Daldog of Dalsofine narrowed the margin between the #2 and #3 spots to a mere sliver, and is closing in on Stevemoose of Glastonbury3. Amarpan of Mine still holds the reigns at #1. But let's break the standoff between these top 3 labels. Bust this competition wide open by registering for the open league with the "Register For Fall" link on the "My Labels" page.

While the old stand-by's are still doing really well, the timing is perfect for the next big act to swoop in and take over. I expect The Killers and The Strokes come out swinging, as will Christina Aguilera (she kind of already has). Plus, she's great bang for the buck at 1 million.

With the new season starting soon, it's time to get out the crystal ball and look into the future. Mine tells me it's going to be anyone's game. Good Luck...see you at Week 13!
