image of David LawrenceHolding the top of the Alt chart again this week Yeah Yeah Yeahs are showing they have the bones to be number one. James Blunt is beautiful holding the CHR and Hot AC chart number one spots. Rascal Flatts and his gang keeps their footing at top spot on the Country chart. And, T.I. is still number one on the Urban chart, holding court as King.

The movers

On the ALT chart, Nickelback was the biggest gainer, up 4 positions to number 6, and Blue October debuted at 17. On the CHR charts, Daniel Powter jumped up 5 to hit number 3. The Country chart has the biggest gainer of all this week, Bon Jovi is up 13 to number 4, with Keith Anderson jumping 12 spots to number 7. On the Hot AC Chart the Pussycat Dolls are up 3 to number 7. The Urban charts biggest mover is Kirk Franklin up 3 to number 16.

Big jumps mean big revenue. Bon Jovi increased their revenue by 100% this week. Keith Anderson was up 554%. Kirk Franklin was up 134%. But the Pussycat Dolls jump was canceled out by the 6 spot fall on the CHR charts. Their income was still a big number, but down 13% from last week. Artists on multiple charts can do well when the band is moving up on all of them, but as we see here, they can also be hurt when they lose on any one of the formats. Blue October debuted this week at number 17 on the Alternative eTracks. Remember signing a debuting artist and holding them for two weeks will earn your label the $250,000 Debut Bonus, so if you like what you hear and have the legs to bet on a newcomer, it can be beneficial.

The Standings

Deadeye Records still holds first place in the standings. Mine is just behind with about a $700,000 difference. $700,000 is all that is separating third through fifth place as well. Check your label, hold tight or make your moves to get the most bang for your buck. Remember you get two free switches, but you can purchase more if you feel the need to make more changes. Also, Gold bonus winners are going to be eligible for a Platinum bonus in week 8. Should you hold on to them?
