Week 2: Blunt, James Blunt!
B to the L to the UNT
LOS ANGELES, CA Friday Apr.14.2006 /FantasyMusicLeague.com/ -- As we finish the second week of the Fantasy Music League it's clear to see we have one really strong performer.
James Blunt is both the most widely held artist and the artist to bring in the most cash this week. At number one on both CHR and Hot AC Charts, it's easy to know why. Income this week brings the Deadeye Records label in at the top, with a mere 380K lead on the Mine Label at second.
What do Breaking Point, Bubba Sparxxx, and Teddy Geiger have in common? No they aren't all drinks you order shaken, not stirred. They've all joined the charts this week. Will they have the strength to keep climbing over the next 11 weeks?
Matisyahu may sound like the henchmen in a 007 movie with the Pussycat Dolls as the feminine felines that woo James, but to be realistic he's a Hasidic reggae artist who worked his way through life and found his strength came from his Jewish heritage. He uses beat box hip hop and reggae sounds to express his faith musically. Oh and the Pussycat Dolls...well, yes they are a group of feline femme fatals out to steal your heart. Think they stole Snopp Dogg's heart during the recording of Buttons?
On the Country charts, Rascal Flatts is up 3, the biggest jumper on the chart. Think he has a master plan of chart domination to kill the competition? If he does, he better not reveal it to Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney or Dierks Bentley. You know the evil villain always loses when he gives away his plan.
Hey, looking for ways to gain money? Remeber you'll have two opportunities throughout the 13-week period to switch your artists. You may do that, when an artist completely drops off the eTracks Charts and is no longer generating any green for you. Whatever the reason, you're given two free opportunities to make adjustments to your Label's Roster. However, you may also purchase additional Artist Switches in the form of five-pack Artist SwitchPacks. Each Artist SwitchPack costs you $10, and allows you to switch out Artists five more times. Now some sweet news... For the Open League Players who purchased a SwitchPack last season and didn't use all five switches, the balance of these switches are available to you in this season. Switch away.
